Lauren Moss is the Northern Territory’s first Minister for Climate Change, incorporating responsibility for Environment and Water Security.

A long-standing advocate in youth mental health and education, Lauren is also Minister in the portfolios of Mental Health and Suicide Prevention; Equality and Inclusion; Youth, and; Seniors.

Lauren was elected in 2014 to the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly as the member for Darwin’s northern suburbs electorate of Casuarina. She was the Territory’s youngest parliamentarian when she won a by-election, aged 27.

She has previously been Minister for Education, Minister for Women, Minister for Children, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Minister for Environment and Natural Resources, and Minister for Corporate and Information Services.

Before entering Parliament, Lauren worked and volunteered in various roles focusing on youth advocacy and mental health, including coordinating the NT Early Intervention Pilot Program and co-founding the “Ychange?” program with Anglicare NT. She has been a Youth Ambassador for Reachout.com, a Youth Advisor for Headspace, and a Board Member of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition.

She has been recognised for her youth development work as the recipient of an Excellence in Youth Leadership award at the NT Young Achiever Awards, and with the NT Pride of Australia Young Leader Medal. She was a finalist in the NT Young Australian of the Year, Darwin City Council Young Citizen of the Year, and the Australian Women’s Weekly Women of the Future.

Lauren is a proud Territorian since migrating with her family to Australia from the United Kingdom aged 12. She has a Bachelor of Business from Monash University.
